This step involves attaching the ports to the patients abdomen that will allow the cameras for the doctor to see and give robot arms access inside the patient to be able to operate.
Step 2: Docking the robot to the ports
The 2nd step in performing robotic surgery, involves attaching the robot arms to the ports.
Step 3: Attach the camera and the instruments
After you dock the robot to the ports on the patient’s abdomen, you insert the instruments: the camera to the camera port; a Maryland or fenestrated bipolar is usually inserted on the left trocar; and the monopolar scissors or needle holder goes in through the right trocar.
