Recurrent Miscarriage

Lexie (not her real name) is 205 lbs in a 4’10 frame. At 28 years old, she is already hypertensive on maintenance meds. We had made a pact for her to follow the weight reduction program I gave her to drop her weight before attempting at another pregnancy. You see, she needed to drop to half her weight, to 100 pounds. We also discovered she has Immunologic Disease of Pregnancy which partly caused her miscarriage the first time around earlier this year. However, before she could even embark on her Weight Reduction regimen she unexpectedly got pregnant! Sadly, at 6 weeks of gestation she miscarried again and this is how a Blighted Ovum looks on the photo, an empty gestational sac with no visible embryo nor yolk sac. Had her pregnancy progressed though, with her obesity and hypertension, she could have ended with multiple complications in her pregnancy like Gestational Diabetes, Pre-eclampsia or frank convulsions from eclampsia, oligohydramnios (lowered amount of amniotic fluid), overweight or underweight baby, prematurity and even fetal death while inside the uterus. We’ll work on correcting all her problems so Mommy Lexie will be a healthy receptacle for a healthy baby! Give us 6 mos!!
